The Bandelin Sonicator

The sonicator is maintained in a sound-proof cabinet and is equipped with a KE-47 probe which allows us to disrupt the GF/F filters within 10 seconds.

The tube containing the solvent and filter are placed in ice in order to avoid any heating of the sample as this could be detrimental for the pigments.

The us of theis equipment requires a few extra precautions: avoid all contact between the probe and your skin and wear ear-protection (even with a sound-proof cabinet).
