Home: Pigment Database

The database

It is composed of 11996 samples distributed across the world ocean, that is to say 1307 vertical profiles between the surface and the limits of the eutrophic layer. About 36 oceanographic cruises or projects are represented from 1985 to present.

The database has been "cleaned" according to the procedure described by Uitz et al (2007).

The pigment data originating from the LOV are accessible to the public since 2013 as part of  the PANGAEA platform at the following reference:

The data have been described by Peloquin et al. (2013) in "The MAREDAT global database of high performance liquid chromatography marine pigment measurements". Earth Syst. Sci. Data, 5, 109-123, 2013 (http://www.earth-syst-sci-data.net/5/109/2013/essd-5-109-2013.pdf)
